Tasty shoots are thick, straight, dark green and tinged purple at the tightly folded tips. Highly resistant to asparagus rust. Fine flavour and high yields have made this an all-time favourite amongst asparagus lovers. Harvest can begin after three years.

Notes:  Asparagus are perennials that give 10 to 20 years, or longer, of harvest. Excellent raw, sliced into cold salads; if cooked, boil or steam only until tender, 5 to 10 mins. Homegrown asparagus are much more tasty. The fernlike foliage makes an attractive green background for a flower planting. Loves organic matter. Ideal germination temperature is 24 °C.
