Tips for Growing Antirrhinum
Days to Germinate: 10 to 21
Germination Temperature: 13 to 24 (°C)
Sowing Media / Soil Type: Peaty
Sowing Depth: Surface
Sowing Method: Direct sow, transplant recommended
Water: Moderately depending upon the soil and climatic conditions – keep the soil moist but not too wet
Sun: Tolerates shade partially
Notes: Pre-chill for 2 weeks. Do not cover seeds or cover very lightly as light is needed for germination. This is a tender perennial and may persist as a short-lived perennial but treated as annual. Plant seedlings in an open, sunny position in moderately rich and well-drained soil. For local production of cuts, harvest when more than half the flowers are open. Will last 5–8 days. Withstands light fall frosts. Warmer temperatures cause leggy transplants. Set out at spacing 9–12 in. Small seeds.
